Today the Pelicans rose from their nests at the brink of dawn in angst of their upcoming game. After chowing on some good morning Costa Rican grub, the Pelicans were ready to take on the U-17 Costa Rica National team. Boarding the bus, the Pelicans began their long journey on the way to El Estadio del Curridabat. Once arriving to their destination, the boys took the pitch and began to warm up. In the first half, the Costa Ricans controlled the tempo of the game, pinging the soccer ball from player to player. But once the Pelicans settled down in the second half, Junior Kyle Douglas created space on the wing and delivered a beautiful cross to Sophomore Prosper Figbe for a tap in goal in his first game back. But the Costa Ricans quickly struck back with a goal of their own. The rest of the game was a battle back and forth. By the time of the final whistle, the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
